East-West Center Announces Fellows

CHENNAI: The East-West Center has announced the selection of 13 accomplished international journalists for its 2016 Jefferson Fellowships travel-study seminar. The print and broadcast journalists from 10 countries and territories will travel together in May to China, Japan and Hawaii to gain on-the-ground perspectives, deepen knowledge of regional issues and build a professional network of contacts, according to a press release. The programme will provide journalists with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the economic challenges and restructuring in Japan and China. The Jefferson Fellowships program is a three-week professional dialogue, study and travel programme designed for working journalists from Asia, the Pacific and the United States to broaden their understanding of Asia Pacific-US issues gain on-the-ground perspectives and build an international network.
