CHENNAI: National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research (NITTTR), Kolkata is organising a National Innovation Talent Contest for Polytechnics in three major conventional disciplines — civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
The key objective, according to a press release, is to identify the levels of skill and innovation potentials of students, teachers, and technical staff members of polytechnics. It will develop cost-effective technological support to the society in the domain of conventional engineering and technology. It also aims to foster innovation literacy for improved downstream and productivity in industry.
The competition will be held in the second week of November at NITTTR. Only polytechnic colleges can take part and the team should have five people — one faculty member, one lab technician and three students. Each college can send only one team from each department.
