CHENNAI: Roads around Marina witnessed traffic snarls due to diversion of vehicles, in view of Jayalalithaa’s first death anniversary.
Senior AIADMK leaders clad in black shirts and white dhotis walked towards the memorial on Tuesday morning, causing a massive traffic jam near the Marina stretch.
Around one lakh reached Jayalalithaa’s memorial to observe the anniversary. Around 1,500 police personnel were deployed and vehicles were diverted to ease the traffic jam.
Vehicular movement near Gandhi Statue on the Marina was diverted towards Anna Salai through Radhakrishnan Salai.
