CHENNAI: Anna University should take steps to regularise the services of temporary teaching faculties in the university and its constituent colleges, who are working under a contract basis, said Dr S Ramadoss, the PMK founder.

In a statement on Sunday, Ramadoss said, “Around 270 temporary teaching faculties of the university have been working at Guindy and Chromepet campuses without proper salary hike and job regularisation. Besides, around 500 temporary teachers are working in 14 constituent colleges of the university. Only 25 per cent of teaching faculties of the university is in permanent service and the rest on the contract basis.”

Urging the Anna University to take steps to regularise the temporary faculties, he said that other universities in the state should also take steps to regularise their temporary faculties.
