CHENNAI: A 35-year-old woman was beaten by her neighbour after her dog urinated in front of the man’s house in Nanganallur on Saturday night. The police said Suguna (35), a resident of Ambedkar Street in Nanganallur, used to take her dog for walking every night.

Her neighbours Sakthi (49) and his brother Sivaraman (52) are living two houses away. “Whenever the dog used to urinate in front of Sakthi’s house, the man would confront Suguna and they used to have fights. On Saturday night, when Suguna’s dog urinated in front Sakthi’s house, both of them got into a verbal fight,” said a police officer.

In the melee, Sakthi hit Suguna with a PVC pipe lying on the road. Shocked passers-by tried to prevent him, but in vain. After the video of the incident went viral, the Madipakkam police have registered a case and arrested Sakthi.
