CHENNAI: NEET and other competitive exams are here to stay, so it is important to stay sharp and focussed. Coaching institutes like Krenen Academy give students confidence and practice to face these competitive exams,” said N Jayalakshmi, principal, Anna Adarsh School, as part of the panel discussion on the ‘Gateway to professional education,’ at the inauguration of the Krenen Academy of Excellence on Saturday.

The academy helps students prepare for competitive exams like NEET, ICWA, ACWA and CLAT. Headquartered at Chennai, the academy plans to expand to other cities. It is already present in Tiruchy and Coimbatore.
The panelists spoke about how coaching classes provide an edge for students to clear competitive exams.

“CBSE students do have an advantage over State board students in entrance exams,” said educationalist, Neelakanta Pillai. “But, even for CBSE students, teachers are preoccupied with finishing the portions in time for board exams; so it is better to join and academy to prepare. Students must have commitment, dedication and devotion towards the subject and choose an academy that will help them.”

Clarity of mind and hard work are the keys to cracking these exams. “It is important for students to know what they do not want to do,” said Dr Shivaram Bharadwaj, consultant plastic surgeon at Apollo Hospitals. “There is a difference between ‘interest’ and being ‘curious’ about something. The only way students can realise this difference is to spend some time working under experts to see if they are truly interested in it.”
Dr. Mohan Rajan, ophthalmic surgeon at Rajan Eye Care Hospital, urged students to take up medicine.

“It is the only profession where there is 100 per cent job placement and you can keep practising as long as you live. But to be able to pass the exam, you need to be competitive, focused and passionate,” he said.
The Krenen Academy of Excellence is associated with Adithya Infomedia.
