NEW DELHI: A 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in east-Delhi's Vivek Vihar Monday morning.

The boy, Durgesh Kumar, whose parents work at a nearby factory, was alone at home, said police.

The minor's family told police that he had been keeping quiet for the last few days but never told them the reason for his behaviour. They also said the boy had also been unwell for the last couple of days.

No suicide note was found at the spot but the deceased had allegedly sent messages to his friends saying that he was going to die soon before he hung himself, police added.

They said the family kept knocking at the door and broke it open after which he was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead. Police have launched a probe to investigate the cause of suicide.
