In view of growing relations between Israel and India, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is contemplating to add a suffix to Teen Murti Marg

New Delhi: In view of growing relations between Israel and India, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is contemplating to add a suffix to Teen Murti Marg in Central Delhi.

According to the proposal floated by the members of the civic agency ,the name of “Teen Murti Marg” will change to “Teen Murti Haifa Marg”. Haifa, is a city in Israel which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is supposedly going to visit this year and the renaming will be done to honor that.  Further the "Teen Murti Chowk" will be renamed to "Teen Murti Haifa Chowk".

NDMC council meeting presided by the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal was supposed to be held on Tuesday but got postponed for two days.

In the last two years four roads have been changed in Lutyen's Delhi like - Race Corse Road to Lok Kalyan Marg and Aurangzeb Road to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Road.

This would be second such rename after a personality or a city not belonging to India. Earlier Park Street in the heart of the city was changed to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman -founder of Bangladesh and father of current Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina.
