Mishra to meet CBI tomorrow, submit proof of allegations against Kejriwal; AAP suspends him from primary membership

Sacked minister Kapil Mishra claimed he was told by Health Minister Satyendar Jain that he was "settling a Rs 50 crore land deal" for Arvind Kejriwal's brother-in-law in Chhattarpur area.

NEW DELHI: Turmoil in Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) saw multiple twists and turns on Monday including Kapil Mishra’s latest allegation on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's relative, who passed away on Monday morning.

The party has refuted all allegations leveled against Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendar Jain and Kejriwal's brother-in-law, who died on Monday morning.  AAP later in the evening suspended Kapil Mishra from the party.

Mishra has given a complaint to Anti-corruption Bureau and on Tuesday he will be going to meet CBI officials.  ACB chief Mukesh Kumar Meena after meeting Delhi LG Anil Baijal said that ACB will call Mishra to record his statement. “We will record Mishra’s statement and law will take its due course,” Meena said.

Mishra started his day by meeting ACB officials with an envelope which had ‘confidential’ written on it. Kapil Mishra after meeting ACB official leveled multiple allegations. He said that a Rs 50 crore deal was arranged for the AAP chief's brother-in-law. He also alleged that rupees 10 crore was made to favour Kejriwal's brother-in-law.

“Satyendar Jain told me that he has arranged a 7-acre land deal in Chattarpur for Arvind Kejriwal's brother-in-law's Bansal family. Being a PWD minister, he also fudged bills up to Rs 10 crore in the department to benefit Kejriwal's relative," Mishra told reporters after meeting ACB official. “Kejriwal's weakness is his chair. He does not want to leave his chair. I want to ask Kejriwal if he will resign the day when Jain is sent to jail in a corruption case,” he said.

Reacting on the allegation, AAP questioned Mishra's allegation and said that BJP is behind Mishra’s conspiracy. “Game of exploitation is being played against the AAP. The BJP is hatching a conspiracy against the AAP through Mishra,” Sanjay Singh, AAP party senior leader said.  Singh claimed that Mishra was repeating what the BJP had been trying to allege in connection with the water tanker scam.

“Mishra's allegations are laughable. I want to ask him if Kejriwal had called him up before accepting the 'bribe',” he said referring to the sacked minister's claims that PWD Minister Satyendar Jain had allegedly handed over of Rs 2 crore to the AAP supremo. Satyendar Jain also reacted on the allegation leveled against him and said that he didn’t meet Kejriwal on 5th May. “I didn’t meet CM on 5th May, Mishra is lying,” Satyendar Jain told to the media.

AAP has also shown a letter written by Mishra to the ACB in 2016 saying the agency was trying to target Kejriwal in the alleged water tanker scam even when his name was not mentioned anywhere in the evidence. Singh accused Mishra speaking the BJP's language.
