Illegal casino in South Delhi busted

A high profile casino running illegally in a farmhouse earlier used for movie shoots in south Delhi area was busted by Delhi police.

NEW DELHI: A high profile casino running illegally in a farmhouse earlier used for movie shoots in south Delhi area was busted by Delhi police on Wednesday.

According to the police 30 people including the owner of the property Suresh Yadav was arrested from Dera Mandi Road in Fatehpur Beri area , by the vigilance department late last night. The police further informed that gambling tokens worth approximately Rs 3 crores was seized.

Not only this, the police also seized a roulette machine, playing cards and liquor bottles from the spot. The police have filed an FIR under various sections of the Delhi Public Gambling Act and Delhi Excise Act. Among the arrested 14 players and five women staff cum bar attendants were arrested.

According to Chinmoy Biswal, additional DCP of south Delhi, cops had responded to a tip-off by an informant. “We are registering FIRs in the case, under appropriate sections,” said Biswal.

This second such bust by the police in short span of time earlier around 36 people again from South Delhi’s posh Sainik farms area were arrested. Police also seized 11 luxury cars and a manhunt was launched for Harnendra Kaushik, the owner of the premises, and Kunal Chandra, the proprietor of the casino.
