CHANDIGARH: A-56-year old woman health worker of Gurugram who was immunised six day ago died on Friday. Authorities say that there was nothing yet to suggest any link with the vaccination. However, family members of Rajwanti, a health worker posted at Bhangrola Primary Health Centre in Gurugram, allege that that she died due to immunisation.

“She slept at night she was fine but never woke up today morning. She never wanted to get herself vaccinated in the first round but as she was registered she had to she wanted to get the injection in the next phase,’’ alleged a family member.

Meanwhile, Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) committee has started investigation. Chief Medical Officer of Gurugram Dr Virender Yadav said, “We have reported death to concerned authorities. We do not suspect it to be because of vaccination as she had no adverse signs or symptoms for last six days as she was immunised on January 16.”

“Her postmortem has been done and the report does not corroborate the accusations of family. But we are investigating further. However we have sent her viscera for investigation and details will be known once the report comes.’’
