Kejriwal launches virtual school for students across country

"There are many children who can't go to school since there are issues like school being far away or obstacles. Many parents don't get their daughters educated since they don't want to send them out."

NEW DELHI: The government has launched a virtual school that would be accessible to children across the country, said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday. Kejriwal informed that the students who have passed standard 8 are eligible for admission to the school. The classes will be conducted virtually for students from standard 9 to 12, he added.

“Any child aged between 13 to 18 years who has completed Class 8th from any recognised school can apply for admission. The classes will be held virtually and recorded lectures will also be uploaded online,” said Kejriwal.

The digital school will be called Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) and the admissions process started on August 31. “The admission to the schooling platform will be open for students across India and they will also be prepared by experts for entrance exams like NEET, CUET and JEE along with skill-based training,” he added.

Stating a few features, Kejriwal said the school will have 24X7 access to the learning materials. “The school will give access to a huge digital library whose content will be available 24x7. Every student will be assigned an ID and password using which they can attend online classes, access recorded videos, supplementary learning materials and tutorials,” he said.
