NEW DELHI: The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has busted a printing setup of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) near Delhi in the Ghaziabad area of Uttar Pradesh and arrested one person in this connection, an official said on Friday.

Apart from the arrest of the accused, identified as Prashant alias Virat, the police also seized a huge cache of material and equipment including the printer, watermark, ink, cutter, papers etc. used for printing the counterfeit currency.

Besides this, Fake Indian currency noted equivalent to Rs 6,71,500 in denominations of Rs 2000, Rs 500, and Rs 200 were also been recovered. Furnishing details, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Rajiv Ranjan Singh said for the past few months, information was being received through reliable sources that a person is involved in the printing and circulation of FICN in Delhi-NCR.
