NEW DELHI: The  High Court on Thursday directed six Public Works Department (PWD) officials to approach the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) to challenge the show cause notices issued to them by the Directorate of Vigilance over alleged gross violations of rules during the renovation work at the official residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

While granting liberty to the officials to move the tribunal, a division bench headed by Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma disposed of an appeal moved by the Directorate of Vigilance and Special Secretary (Vigilance) against a single bench order that protected the PWD officials from any action against them.
The bench also comprising Justice Sanjeev Narula asserted that the officials’ pleas moved before the single bench against the show cause notices were not maintainable in view of a Supreme Court verdict.
The appeal by Vigilance stated that the assurance was without authorisation by the competent authority..
