HYDERABAD: Two auto drivers have been arrested for killing their friend and disposed his body on the railway tracks to create an impression that the death was an accidental one.

The body of the deceased, Boya Bala Swamy (25) was found on the tracks between Gollapally and Jadcherla railway stations on October 26 last year.

Bala Swamy, an auto driver was a resident of Gangapur village in Jadcherla of Mahbubnagar district.

Kacheguda railway police initially registered a case of suspicious death.

During their probe, police found that Bala Swamy had two friends, Pedda Boya alias Pedda Mukkula Kurmaiah and P Mallesh, both also residents of Gangapur village and auto drivers.

On day of the killing, Kurmaiah and Bala Swamy consumed liquor.

“During a conversation, Kurmaiah asked the latter why he was having an illicit relationship with his friend’s wife.

Bala Swamy replied harshly and said he was also having a relationship with Kurmaiah’s wife.

This led to an altercation and in a fit of rage, Bala Swamy hit his friend with a slipper,’’ Secunderabad railway SP M Kantha Rao said.

Kurmaiah then picked up an iron wheel spanner and hit Bala Swamy on the head leading to his death.

He immediately called up his friend, Mallesh.

“The duo later shifted the dead body onto the tracks and several trains passed over it.

It was deliberately done to show that Bala Swamy met with an accident or jumped before a train,’’ the SP said.

Police arrested Kurmaiah and Mallesh on Saunday.

Railway police officials said this is the third case in the past four months where the victim was killed at some other place and body left on the tracks.
