The AP High Court on Friday allowed a writ appeal filed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and imposed a penalty of Rs 10 lakh on an errant pharma college.
The court was dealing with a writ appeal filed by AICTE against an order of a single judge on grant of permission for running the Vishaka Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
A CBI inquiry on a petition had revealed that the college had produced forged and false documents and had shown lands for the college, but was operating from a structure which was 8km away from the same.
The bench imposed the penalty and refused to interfere with the order of the AICTE refusing permission for running the college
