HYDERABAD:  The ACB on Wednesday registered four cases relating to fraud committed in auction of liquor shops in West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts.

The officials said that in West Godavari district, out of the 473 licence holders, 79 persons possess white ration cards and in  Krishna district 138 have white ration cards out of the 335 licence holders. In Guntur, 104 were white card holders out of the 342  licence holders and in Prakasam district, out of the 321 shops,  85 persons possess white ration cards.

“In all the above cases, several shops bear similar trade names which is a clear indication  that they are controlled by one or more group of persons or syndicates. Preliminary investigation into the case relating to Vizianagaram district corroborates the above inference about the role of syndicates,’’ the ACB officials said.
