HYDERABAD: In a filmy style, a masked man sneaked into a house and decamped with 20 tola gold ornaments after catching hold of a one-year-old boy and warning his mother of killing the boy if she obstructed him.

The incident took place at Santoshima Nagar in Nerdmet police station limits.

According to police, around 11.30 am on Wednesday, an unidentified person entered into the house of Saibaba, an employee of a call centre,  and grabbed his one-year-old boy. "Putting knife to the boy's neck, he asked for gold ornaments from his mother and aunt," said P Srinivas, inspector at Neredmet.

Saibaba and his wife Srilatha,  his brother Srinivas Rao,  sister-in-law Swapna and his parents have been staying together.

Around 9.30 a.m., Saibaba went to office. Saibaba's parents were sleeping in the other room while Srilatha and Swapna were sitting in the living room.

A man covered himself behind a mask entered into the house lifted up Radhakrishna, Srilata's baby, and asked the women to pack all the gold ornaments in a bag. Else, he said he would kill the boy. After taking the gold ornaments from them, the robber fled the place.

After half-an-hour, Srilatha and Swapna informed their husbands. Saibaba lodged a complaint with police who booked a case.
