HYDERABAD: Students and parents staged a protest in front of the Board of Intermediate Education demanding that the state government give 10 marks moderation to students who failed in the Intermediate second year physics examination this year. The agitators were supported by Government Junior College Lecturers Association (GJCLA)and the Progressive Democratic Students Union.

The parents and students took to protest following poor pass percentage in physics in the results announced by BIE on Tuesday. About 31 percent of students failed in physics, the highest fail percentage in a single paper this year. GJCLA general secretary P Madusudhan Reddy demanded that 10 marks be added to students’ score in physics as a huge number of candidates failed in the subject. He alleged that the BIE did not follow the blueprint for setting question papers.

PDSU state president A Ashok demanded that the state government conduct an inquiry into the allegations and do justice to the students. He said the failed candidates may lose a year if the government refuses to intervene.
