HYDERABAD: Allowing the criminal petitions filed by the CBI, justice KC Bhanu of the High Court directed on Friday that GV Vijay Raghavan and N Sunil Reddy _ accused in the Emaar scam case _ were given to police custody for CBI interrogation for a period of three and five days respectively from Saturday (February 4).

The judge further directed that the accused shall be interrogated in the presence of the advocates of their choice from 8 am to 6 pm everyday.

After hearing the arguments for two days, justice Bhanu, in his advance orders (by wire), directed the prison superintendent concerned to hand over the custody of the two accused to the CBI officials everyday at 8 am and that the investigating officials shall hand over the accused to the prison authorities at 6 pm.

With regard to apprehensions of the accused that the CBI officials would resort to third degree methods during interrogation in police custody, the judge ordered that the respondents (accused persons) shall be interrogated before the advocate of their choice and that they shall be subjected to examination by a competent civil assistant surgeon before handing over them to the prison authorities along with health condition certificate.
