HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has ordered closure of two eating establishments at Miyapur here because of the unhygienic conditions on their premises and for posing danger to public health.

It also found that they were running the businesses without valid trade licence which is contrary to Sections 521 and 622 of HMC Act, 1955.

Special teams of the health and sanitation wing inspected 24 eating establishments and closed down Times Tiffins, Shop No.1, Block No.1, RBR Complex, Miyapur; and Kakatiya Kabas (Veg & Non Veg), Plot No.1, Balajinagar, Miyapur.

Three other eating establishments were prosecuted for violating the bye-laws of the HMC Regulation of Eating Houses (or) Hotels, 1973.

These are Athidhi Restaurant, Plot No.1 & 2, Nandini Nagar; Akshaya Sweets; and Hotel Akshaya, RBR Complex all at Miyapur.

Further, notices were issued to 9 other eateries asking them to rectify defects.

Managements of all types of eating establishments have been asked to possess valid trade licences, and to keep their kitchens and premises in hygienic conditions.

They should provide safe drinking water and serve fresh food to customers.

Periodical inspections of all types of eateries will be carried out in GHMC limits, the corporation warned.
