HYDERABAD: The state government is in a fix over what reply it should give to the notice of contempt served by the Supreme Court for not bothering to file an affidavit on how it is implementing the apex court's direction on highsecurity number plates for vehicles.
The Supreme Court had, in January, asked the government not to split the work of manufacturing and fixing of number plates to vehicles into packages, and wanted the whole work done in one package. The direction to the government was to split the work into packages and file an affidavit on progress of the work and complete the work by Feb 29. The government did neither.
