HYDERABAD: Additional advocate general KG Krishna Murthy informed the High Court on Tuesday that chief secretary Pankaj Dwivedi had issued a memo (No.239/SCD/A/11 dated February 6, 2012) to DGP V Dinesh Reddy asking him to submit a statement of assets held by him and his wife to the government.

The government decided to take appropriate action under Rule 16(5) of the All India Service (Conduct) Rules, 1968 and would act upon the response from the DGP and, as part of it, issued the memo on Monday.

The additional AG pleaded with the court for dismissal of the petition filed by senior IPS officer Umesh Kumar who sought a CBI probe into the assets of Dinesh Reddy.
