HYDERABAD: The police arrested a notorious gang of eight persons who were involved in various offences. A Maruti van, three twowheelers, ganja, two hunting sickles, two swords, four daggers, and four iron rods were also seized from them. Acting on a tipoff, Task Force police arrested the gang members when they gathered at Epthebar Chowk under Mirchowk police station with deadly weapons and were planning to take revenge against their opponents. The accused are Mohammed Fayaz Ali alias Sohail, Syed Hassan Ali alias Wajid of Iranigalli, Mohammed Ilyas of Chandrayangutta, Syed Haji Ahmed of Jahanuma, Mohammed Zaker of Aman Nagar in Talabkatta, Mohammed Badruddin alias Badar and Syed Imran, both residents of Fateh Darwaza and Syed Ayaz of Panjesha.

S Chaturvedi, additional DCP (Task Force) said, "During interrogation, the main accused Fayyaz confessed he was involved in more than 70 cases including murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery, snatching and extortion. He was leading a group of pickpockets and historysheet was opened in 2004. He formed a gang with the other accused and procured deadly weapons to eliminate their opponents."

Mohammed Hassan Ali in 2003 had killed Qamar, who is an associate of Najaf. Mohammed Iliyas was involved in 10 criminal cases.
