VIJAYAWADA: Aided school teachers will besiege the house of secondary education minister K Parthasarathi on March 5 if their demands are not conceded, AP Teachers’ Guild general secretary LK Chinnappa has said.

The aided school teachers of coastal districts met here Sunday to chalk out plans to press their demands.

Chinnappa alleged that the government was showing step- motherly attitude towards them.

“The aided school teachers are being discriminated against though there is no difference between the work of government and aided teachers.

The aided teachers are not getting any incentives and allowances like government teachers,” he said.

Chinnappa said the secondary education minister promised to solve their problems by November 15, 2011 when the leaders of Teachers’ Guild met him on September 25, 2011.

But the minister had reneged on his promise.

The Teachers’ Guild will to submit a memorandum to the minister on February 15 on the issue.
