HYDERABAD: An auto driver, who took away gold ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh from a woman from US, was arrested Tuesday and the stolen property was recovered.

Police said, Kamala Devi came to India recently to attend a marriage. She along with her relatives came to the city in Narsapur Express Monday.Kamala and her relatives booked two prepaid autos, one to Kacheguda and other to Kukkatpally. The auto driver Ramesh, picked the suitcase of Kamala that contained 40 tolas of gold ornaments and instead of putting it in his auto put it in some other auto. After Kamala noticed her suitcase missing, she lodged a police complaint. Ramesh was nabbed at KB Thanda in Maheshwaram mandal. Police recovered the jewellery from his house.
