On returning home, Savitramma slept in the verandah while the two sisters slept in the hall in which Srinivas was already sleeping.

The sisters, however, did not wake up the family members but stayed in the same room. In the wee hours, they raised an alarm that some unidentified persons entered into the house and killed their brother. They also cleaned up the pestle.
