HYDERABAD: A RTC bus on Sunday knocked down a two-wheeler killing one and injuring another at Ameerpet. The victim, P Naveen Reddy (26) was a native of Kamareddy in Nizamabad district and working in a private company.
Naveen and his friend, Anvesh Reddy were travelling on a two-wheeler when the mishap took place around 8 a.m.
“The duo took a U-turn near Maitrivanam and were proceeding when an RTC bus coming from behind hit their bike. Naveen, who was riding pillion fell down and the bus wheels crushed him to death,” SR Nagar sub-inspector of police N Srinivas said. The bus, with registration no.- AP 11Z 6116 belongs to Ranigunj-I depot and going to Secunderabad from Sanathnagar. Anvesh suffered minor injuries in the mishap.
Police registered cases under Sections 304A (rash and negligent act leading to death) and 337 (causing injuries due to rash or negligent act) against the bus driver who is absconding and are investigating.
