HYDERABAD: A 39-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Meerpet on Thursday. Though the husband of the deceased claimed his wife had committed suicide, the woman's relatives alleged foul play.
Ch Prasanna Kimari (39) was married to Srinivas, a part-time advocate more than 10 years back and the couple have two children.
According to police, the couple used to quarrel frequently and the woman was allegedly subjected to harassment by her husband and in-laws.
The couple hail from different castes and fell in love and got married.
Prasanna Kumari recently joined a private college for work which was opposed by Srinivas.
The duo were quarrelling over the issue since the past few days.
Meerpet police inspector T Ravinder said the couple had a quarrel on Wednesday and Srinivas allegedly slapped his wife.
According to Srinivas, soon after that Prasanna Kumari went into the bedroom, locked and set herself ablaze.
Srinivas broke open the doors and tried to rescue his wife but she suffered severe burns and died instantly. Prasanna Kumari's relatives, however, alleged foul play behind the death.
