HYDERABAD: A division bench of the High Court comprising chief justice Madan B Lokur and justice PV Sanjay Kumar on Monday directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) not to provide basic amenities to the illegal encroachers of the Musi river bed.

The chief justice directed the Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited not to provide electricity to the unauthorised residences located along the Musi river bed. He impleaded the CPDCL as one of the respondents to the plea challenging inaction of the authorities in preventing illegal encroachments along the river bed.
