HYDERABAD: AntiCorruption Bureau sleuths conducted searches at the residence of an inspector working in the Cyberabad police limits on Friday and unearthed property worth crores of rupees disproportionate to the known sources of his income.

The searches were conducted at nine places including the residence of Chaitanyapuri police inspector P Praveen Kumar and his relatives house in the city and Mahaboobnagar. Unconfirmed reports said the sleuths unearthed `2.62 crore worth of assets including cash, land, plots and houses registered in the names of Praveen's father Butcha Reddy and mother Sarojini Devi.

Praveen is said to be closely linked to another senior police official, Sarveshwar Reddy, the OSD of Ranga Reddy district, who had been arrested in a disproportionate assets case. On November 19 2011, the ACB had raided Praveen's flat at Errum Manzil in connection with Sarveshwar's case.
