HYDERABAD: The Teachers Eligibility Test, held at 2,134 centres across the state on Sunday, went off smoothly.

In all, 55,584 (67.7 per cent) candidates wrote the first paper and 4,02,083 (96.86 per cent) wrote the second paper.

The D.Edqualified candidates, who are eligible for selection as Second Grade Teachers (SGT), attended the first paper examination conducted in the morning between 9.30 am and noon. B.Ed candidates, who are eligible for selection as School Assistants (SA), wrote the second paper.

The candidates will be given a 20 per cent weightage to the marks scored in the DSC examination.
