AFS celebrates diamond jubilee

HYDERABAD: The Air Force Station celebrated its diamond jubilee at Begumpet here on Saturday. The occasion was marked by fearless display of acrobatics by the Air Devil Team which was coordinated by Wing Commander Asha Jhothirmayi. The Air Force Band regaled the spectators with its musical performance. Air chief marshal (retired) IH Latif and many other veterans attended. The station, established in 1951, is being commanded by group captain EK Prasad at present.

The Begumpet Airfield, which was set up in 1932, was used by Nizam-VII Mir Osman Ali Khan for his aircraft.
