HYDERABAD: In accordance with its policy to create one lakh job opportunities in the public sector, the government has directed the state power utilities to complete the process of filling 8,539 posts by April.

The government, which have already accorded permission to the AP Transco and the four Discoms for filling 6,263 posts, has recently given permission for recruitment of 110 junior assistants (LDC) in AP Genco. Very recently, AP Genco has conducted written examinations for filling up 411 assistant engineer and 1,755 junior plant attendant posts for which the recruitment process is under way.

All-out efforts are being made by AP Transco, Discoms and AP Genco to complete the process of recruitment for the above-mentioned 8,539 posts by the end of April and the AP Transco is going to conduct the examination for 250 assistant engineer posts on Sunday.

AP Genco is also going to issue a notification soon for filling up 342 post of security guards/firemen.

Electricity employee unions, have hailed the decision.
