HYDERABAD: A 7-year-old girl was crushed under the wheels of a water tanker while she was going to her school on a scooter along with her mother at Bachupally in KPHBpolice station limits on Saturday.

The girl, Satvika, was a student of Class II at Creek School and resident of Apurupa Colony in Bachupally. Her mother Sridevi is a software engineer at IBM and her father Rajasekhar a civil engineer in a private firm in Chennai.

The accident took place when Satvika, her mother and grandmother Padmaavathi were going on a scooter, Honda Activa, to attend a parents’ meeting at the school.

As they reached Bachupally, a water tanker coming from behind hit them. Satvika fell off the scooter and came under the rear wheels of the tanker and died while her mother and grandmother were seriously injured.

The tanker driver took to heels immediately after the accident, police said.
