HYDERABAD: Employees and police had some anxious moments at the AP Public Service Commission’s office building here on Saturday when a woman qualifier for Group-II services climbed the building and threatened to commit suicide by jumping down.

A resident of Hayatnagar, Karuna Sri qualified in the Group-II examination in 2007 and appeared for interview. Around 12.30 pm on Saturday she reached the APPSC office and, demanding that she be provided job, made a dash to the terrace and threatened to jump down.

With officials assuring to look into her case, she relented and came down. She met APPSC chairman Rachael Chatterjee who assured to look into her case and respond to her in three days.

Speaking to Express, Karuna Sri, who is physically-challenged, said she had been called for medical test after the written test and interview but was not given appointment letter.

She had been making trips to the APPSCoffice for five years but officials did not tell her the reason for denying her employment.
