HYDERABAD: To ensure that every rupee allocated for the Scheduled Castes and tribes under the SC, ST sub-plan is judiciously spent, the state government has decided to constitute a Group of Ministers to monitor it.
The Cabinet sub-committee will submit a report to the chief minister with its recommendations.
Details about constitution of sub-committee will be announced in the Assembly in a couple of days.
Following a meeting with a team of legislators led by deputy chief minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha here on Monday, the chief minister said that though the state government is implementing various welfare schemes for SC/STs there is a need to ensure that all funds allocated for them were being used for the benefit of targeted communities.
He said that the cabinet sub-committee will also ensure that a funds are not diverted.
Rajanarasimha urged the CM to see that the proposed nodal agency for implementation of sub-plan should have legal validity.
