Gambling den raided, 5 held

The Task Force police on Thursday raided after a tip off, on the premises of RR Residency apartments, Srinagar colony and arrested five persons who were involved in gambling.

The police also seized Rs 1.44 lakh, six mobile phones and pack of playing cards from them.

The accused are - N Venkat Reddy, 40, real Estate, resident of Prashant Apartments, Srinagar Colony, B Amarnath Reddy, 44, resident of Balaji Nagar, Kukatpally, P Subba Rao, 38, cashew nuts business, resident of Krishnanagar, Raghunadan, 50, share trading, resident of Kamalapuri, Srinnagar Colony, T Rajini Kanth, 33, resident of Sriram towers, Miyapur.

During the enquiry, it came to light that, one of the accused Venkat Reddy, Srinagar colony has taken premises on rent about one-and-half-year ago and has been organising gambling in the house, along with his friends on commission for each game.

The accused along with seized material were handed over to the Panjagutta police for necessary action.
