Nine Tank Bund statues reinstalled

Reinstallation of the statues that were vandalised during Million March last year is almost over.

Department of culture has reinstalled nine statues so far, that of Annamacharya, Raghupathi Venkataratnam Naidu, Mutnuri Krishna Rao, Kandukuri Veeresalingam, Tripuraneni Ramswamy Choudary, Bellari Raghava, Sir Arthur Cotton, Gurajada Appa Rao and Bellari Raghava. The other three statues of Yerrapragada, Brahmanaidu and Siddendra Yogi would be installed in the next four days.  Contract for the statues was given to a West Godavari-based sculptor, Aruna Prasad Vudayar for `47.5 lakh. About 20 policemen have been deployed to provide security to the newly-installed statues.
