Senior Congress leader and BC Commission former member V Krishna Mohan has urged the chief minister to appoint chairmen and members for the BC, SC, ST, Mahila and Minority Commissions immediately.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat here on Sunday, he said that due to the government’s delay in appointing chairmenn and members to these commissions in the past few years, the difficulties being faced by people of these communities left unaddressed.
For example, eve-teasing and attacks on women have grown in the absence of Mahila Commission and incidents of atrocities on Dalits as at Lakshmipet were being witnessed in the absence of an SC/ST commission, he said in a letter to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
