Activists detained for trying to prevent cattle transportation

The Narsingi police reportedly took as many as 20 Bajrang Dal activists into custody when they tried to stop trucks transporting cattle to the city for Bakrid, that will be held on October 27. The incident took place at Gandipet on Monday.

“Around 6.30 am, when catte was being transported from Shankarpally in Ranga Reddy district to the city, the Bajrangdal activists noticed it and rushed to the spot. As the trucks reached Gandipet, the activists detained them, opposing the transportation,” Narsingi inspector P Narayana said.

Tension gripped the residents of the locality when the activists started pelting stones at the vehicle. The vehicle’s windowpanes were damaged. Police rushed to the spot and resorted to lathi charge to bring the situation under control. Some persons were hospitalised with minor injures.  Police reportedly took some persons involved in stone pelting into their custody and shifted them to the police station.
