Couple tied up at home, robbed

Four unidentified persons gained entry into a house and decamped with two tola gold ornaments and Rs 20,000 cash after thrashing a couple here on Monday.

The incident took place at Srilakshminagar colony in Petbasheerabad police station limits in the early hours of Monday.

According to the police, when the couple was sleeping four miscreants entered their house and tied their hands with a rope. Later, they beat them up  and fled away with gold ornaments and cash.

The victim, Haribabu, in into manufacture of house-keeping products.

“Around 2.15 am, Haribabu noticed four persons trying to break the almirah lock in the bedroom. When Haribabu tried to resist the thieves, they thrashed him and tied up him and his wife with a rope. Later, they snatched the gold chain from his wife’s neck. The couple was hospitalised with minor injuries. Later, they lodged a complaint with the police,” Petbasheerabad inspector B Janaiah said.

Petbasheerabad police registered a robbery case and took up investigation. Special teams were formed to trace the accused.
