Home guard hurt trying to stop tinted-glass car

A traffic police home guard sustained minor injuries after he was accidentally hit by a four-wheeler during an enforcement drive against tinted-glass vehicles at Jubilee Hills here on Friday.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 11.30 am when V Anjaneyulu Goud signaled an oncoming Ford Fiesta car to stop for checking. However, even as the person behind the wheel, Sahil, was stopping the vehicle, he accidentally hit Anjaneyulu, who sustained injuries on his heel.

Sahil then drove the home guard to a nearby corporate hospital and paid for his treatment. “It is a very minor incident. We have registered a case at the Jubilee Hills police station, and it is a bailable offence,” inspector of Jubilee Hills traffic police station P Devender said.

He explained that the Ford Fiesta had tinted glasses from the company itself and was therefore not fined. The injured home guard was discharged from the hospital by 1 pm.
