Man stabbed for illicit affair

A 40-year-old man stabbed a person with a dagger for having an illicit relationship with the former’s daughter in Old City on Sunday.

The victim was hospitalised with serious injuries. The police reportedly took the accused into their custody. The victim was identified as Balakrishna, and he was attacked by Narsing, both residents of Laldarwaza locality in Shaalibanda police station limits.

Around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Balakrishna was riding his bike when Narsing stopped him on the road and had an argument blaming Balakrishna for his daughter’s suicide. “During the argument, Narsing attacked Balakrishna with a dagger and the latter collapsed on the ground,” said A Bhaskar, inspector, Shaalibanda.

Police said that Balakrishna, who was already married, had an illicit affair with the daughter of the accused and she committed suicide after the issue went to the notice of her parents.
