Telugu meet entry fee Rs 500

People in the state and other parts of the country, wishing to take part in the IV World Telugu Conference to be held in Tirupati in the last week of December, will have to shell out Rs 500 as participation fee and those from abroad 20 US dollars.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, minister for culture and chairman of the cabinet sub-committee on World Telugu Conference Vatti Vasanth Kumar said people interested to take part in the event should get registered before November 30. Applications are available at the World Telugu Conference cell set up at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad.

He said meetings will be held with local poets, writers, intelligentsia in Hyderabad and Tirupati in the first week of November.

Potti Sriramulu Telugu University is currently working on monographs and a special souvenir. It will also reproduce some monographs published during the first World Telugu Conference and re-issue ‘Telugu Vani’.

From Nov 15 to December 15, conferences will be held in all the districts in the state and also in areas of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh.
