The harmonica has gone into oblivion since the demise of stalwarts like R D Burman and Milon Gupta, a professional harmonica player in the 50 and 60s. In an attempt to revive this classical instrument and bring it back to the public, an evening of melodies is being organised in the city. This evening will be a rendition of old melodies with the help of a Chromatic Harmonica by Aarkay Sabnavis. The musician will pay tribute to the legendary Manna Dey apart from playing other melodies during this hour long event. Sabnavis is a self taught musician who has been performing professionally for a while in the city. He recently also performed on the World Music Day celebrations organised the Hyderabad Western Music Foundation.
The musical eve will begin at 6:30 pm at Lamakaan, Road Number 1, Banjara Hills on November 1.
Entry to the event is free.
