A 26-year-old married woman was gang-raped by unknown persons at Kushaiguda police limits. Even as the incident took place Monday, the victim approached the police on Tuesday and lodged a complaint.
According to police, the victim and her husband are daily-wage labourers and natives of Mehbubnagar district.
They came to the city a few years ago to eke out their living. An unknown person came to the ‘cooli adda’ where a group of daily-wage workers gather and hired the victim, stating that they needed a woman to work at a construction site.
He took her to an isolated place in Kushaiguda, and later, three more persons raped the victim. They abandoned the woman Tuesday morning at Kushaiguda and fled. Based on the complaint, police registered a rape case and investigation is on.
