Two minor girls sexually assaulted in Hyderabad

The spate of rapes on minor girls continued in the twin cities on Monday. An eight-year-old girl was reported to have been sexually assaulted by a group of autorickshaw drivers in Saidabad police limits while a five-year-old girl was harassed sexually by her neighbour in Ibrahimpatnam in the Cyberabad police commissionerate limits. The Ibrahimpatnam police registered cases under the Nirbhaya Act.

According to the police, an auto-driver reportedly kidnapped the victim around 3.30 pm from near a masjid adjoining her house at Kurmaguda near Madannapet in Saidabad police limits. He forcibly took her to Khajabagh in the same police limits. There he and his two friends reportedly sexually assaulted the victim in the autorickshaw and fled.

“As the victim lay crying there, some locals went to her rescue. She narrated the incident to them and fell unconscious. The locals took the victim to the Saidabad police station and from there the cops shifted her to Niloufer hospital. The victim received serious bleeding injuries and her health condition is stated to be serious,” police said.

The victim’s mother died six months ago and since then she has been staying at her grand-mother’s house in Kurmaguda.

Saidabad police registered rape cases and took up investigation.

In another incident, a 21-year-old man attempted to sexually assault a five-year-old girl.

Police arrested Naresh, a neighbour of the victim following a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents.

Ibrahimpatnam inspector K Ram Kumar said the victim’s parents alleged in the complaint that Naresh, a resident of Ibrahimpatnam, had sexually assaulted their daughter in their absence at home.

Naresh was booked under Sec 354 (A) (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), Criminal Amendment Law Act 2013, and section 8 of Prevention of Criminal Offence Act 2012. He was produced in a court and sent in judicial remand.

The victim was shifted to hospital for medical tests and her health condition is said to be stable.
