Dr Manga Shiva Lingam Goud, commonly known as M S Goud specialised in Aesthetic Dentistry from Medak, AP. He is the only dental surgeon from Andhra Pradesh to serve as the president of the Indian Prosthodontic Society.
Goud is also appointed as the official dentist for the Governer and has been a consultant to the Governers of Andhra Pradesh from last 17 years. M D Goud pioneered Cosmetic Dentistry in our state.
How it all began?
“The idea of entering dentistry was never the plan,” says the doctor. His father was his true motivation and his vision was to see his son as a doctor. Goud explains that during his time as a student, people did not consider dentistry as a prefession on par with MBBS and there was not much value for the BDS degree. After his MDS from Mumbai University, he was offered a job as an assistant professor at the Manipal Dental College due to lack of job opportunities in the feild of dentistry. After working for 22 years as a government servant, Goud set up his own clinic at Sultan Bazar which has now grown into five multi specialty hospitals -- Dr Gowds Dental Hospitals. In his 40 years of experience, he has witnessed tremendous developments in the field of dentistry. He has mastered laser treatments, root canaling, cure for bleeding gums and gave solutions to all such problems with his experience. Coming from a middle class family and having grown into an internationally recognised dental surgeon, Dr Goud has put an end to his struggle for the recognition of dentistry.
He has also published seven books so far on ways to take more care of teeth and cosmetic dentistry in a language which can be understood universally in Telugu, English, Hindi and Urdu.
Awards and recignitions
International Biographical Center Cambridge, England has recognised Goud as one of the top 100 leading health professionals of the world for the year 2013 in the field of Aesthetic Dentistry. The doctor was offered a membership in the South East Asia division. In 1992, he was awarded with Indira Gandhi National Award, while in the consecutive years he was also felicitated with Mahatma Gandhi, Ugadi Telugu and many more awards.

Apart from work, doctor loves going on a holiday with his family every six months. “My wife has always been supportive,” says the dental doctor. Always standing up for him, she is also one of the directors of Dr Gowds Dental Hospitals. Both his children have also followed in their father’s footsteps and have joined the dental profession as surgeons.”It’s a complete dental family,” said Dr Goud laughing as his son-in-law and daughter-in-law also contribute to the dental surgeons chain.
