Principal A-G is chairman of revamped audit board

The Audit Advisory Board of Comptroller and Auditor General of India for Andhra Pradesh has been reconstituted with Principal Accountant General (general and social sector audit) as the chairperson.

It will also have an accountant general (economic and revenue Sector audit) and principal director of audit (central), four ex-officio members from Indian Adult and Accounts department along with ten honorary external members were nominated from among eminent public personalities, who have excelled in various walks of public life.

The external members of the Board are former Chief Election Commissioner of India JM Lyngdoh, retired Lokayuktha R Ramanujam, former secretary (expenditure) CS Rao, retired additional deputy CAG A Krishna Rao, retired IAS officer Rachel Chatterjee, former member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes SC Jaini, KS Gopal from Centre for Environment Concerns, Nikhil Dey from Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangatan, PDK Rao from Sodhana and retired Engineer in Chief BSN Reddy.

The first meeting of the board is scheduled to be held on May 15, wherein discussions are to be held on matters concerning coverage, scope and prioritisation of audits to be conducted by the office of Principal Accountant General (G&SSA), Accountant General (E&RSA) and Principal Director of Audit (Central; along with suggestions regarding appropriate audit approach, methodology and techniques for implementation of audit plan for the year 2013-14.
